In 2017, I started a new blog on Digital marketing but did not have time to write all the posts myself. I asked my team member to find a freelance writer who can write on topics like SEO, Digital Marketing, WordPress & Affiliate Marketing.
I was willing to pay Rs. 5000 per article but to my surprise, but we could not find a quality content writer in India.
Fast Forward to 2018,
I started a couple of affiliate marketing websites as our side project. We were looking for writers who can write product reviews for us. But again we could not find writers who can deliver quality content.
There is no fun of working with writers whose work need multiple revisions. We wanted to hire writers to save our time, not to waste our time on giving them feedback.
My disappointment was not about finding a writer but I was disappointed why we have a scarcity of quality writers in India.
We launched the first batch of Content Writing Pro course in Aug 2018. It was a private launch, means I have not promoted the course aggressively since I was not sure if the experiment would work.
My aim was to teach content writing to 10 people to make them expert in content writing that works in affiliate marketing projects.
I kept the things easy to help them make money from content writing.
We Indians are very smart and hardworking. We can learn anything quickly if a proper direction is provided.
The experiment worked.
We hired more than 50% students from Batch-1 as paid content writers. The rest of the students decided to write for their own websites.
The course became useful for two type of people,
- Who wants to earn immediate as a freelancer
- Who wants to write for their own affiliate marketing focused blog.
Ideally, you should maintain the balance between both options.
Let me tell you the story of how I have written my first article in 2014.
I wrote a few words, stared for a couple of minutes and then deleted the lines. This way I spent several hours but could not complete even a single paragraph. I was afraid of the judgments that people would pass on my writing.
I thought that was going to be my first and last article.
It took me 7 days to write my first article (that was just 300 words long).
Now, after writing more than 500,000 words in the last 4 years, I can assure you that anyone can become a pro-level content writer even with average English writing skills. You should be
extremely good at English writing good enough to express your thoughts in your writing. Plus you should learn storytelling skills.
My articles have been published on Huffington Post, LifeHacker, Entrepreneur, YourStory, Inc42 and on the websites of big brands. My clients paid me Rs. 5000 for writing 1000 words article for them and now I can charge $500 (Rs. 35,000) for a single article.
You don’t need to have a fancy degree to become a freelance writer. You can become a good writer as long as you are providing value through your content.
Isn’t it a huge achievement for someone who struggled to write 300 words in a week to charging 35K for a single article?
I am not sure whether you would be able to charge Rs. 35,000 for a single article but I can assure you that you can easily start earning Rs. 10,000 as a beginner level writer and then excel to Rs. 20,000 and 50,000.
You don’t even have to leave your job or your current work. You can learn & earn on the side.
There are 3 type of writers,
- one, who charge a premium for their writing services (more than Rs. 5 per word)
- two, who suck at content writing and accept work even at 30 paise or 20 paisa per word
- three, who begin their content writing career with 0.5 Rs. per word and then increase their rates
And my focus is on the third category.
We came up these numbers after working with many writers. We paid $250 for a single article and the content was worth the money. We also wasted time in endless revision requests with writers who were willing to write at a cheap rate.
Teaching our own writers was a better option than wasting time with occasional writers.
So we launched a course and the results were fantastic.
There is no end of learning different formats and styles of writing content.
You can make money by,
- Writing for niche blogs
- Writing e-books
- Writing Press Releases for startups & corporates
- Technical writing
- Writing landing pages
- Writing sales pages
- Writing webinar scripts
- Writing email funnel sequences
- Writing columns and editorials for magazines
You can earn well if you have a deep knowledge of digital marketing, blockchain & cryptocurrency, sales, entrepreneurship, finance, legal or any topic which is not easy to learn.
There is one way to earn money through content writing…
…… even if you don’t have any expertise in any domain.
That is possible by doing in-depth research on Google.
We use well-researched content on our Affiliate Marketing websites. And we taught the same methods to students of Content Writing Pro course.
Content Writing Pro students got 3 benefits with the single course
- They learned Content Writing
- They learned bits & pieces of Affiliate Marketing & SEO
- They earned money after joining us as a paid writer
ROI of the single investment in the content writing course is huge. No other course provides the opportunity of earning & learning at the same time.
Even we were not sure if our students would be able to learn quickly. We are glad that we were able to provide paid work to students of Content Writing Pro.
Of course, we would test writing skills before hiring a freelance content writer but we have seen that anyone can learn content writing if they follow a structured approach.
I have never written content before I left my job & jumped into the startup world.
My team member, Raghav is B.Com graduate and learned content writing in his job. Now he handles the team of content writers and provides the review on their articles.
And we have a never-ending demand for the quality content.
We can hire 100 writers if they are committed to learn and grow. 50 paisa per word is the minimum that we offer and really good writers can aim for 5 Rs. per word after a couple of month’s hard work.
We love to make things simple, quick and effective.
Rather than wasting your time on 50 hours of video training, we give you less than 10 hours of video lessons.
Rather than teaching you each & everything about writing – we teach you what makes money (& easy to learn).
In the Content Writing Pro course, you would learn writing only 3 type of articles
- List Based Articles
- Product Reviews
- How to guide Articles
These articles are super easy to write as most of the information is available online. Your job would be to research the products and articulate in a structured way.
You can find some of the articles that we have written for our own website tinypaisa.com
The lessons of Content Writing pro are structured in the following way
- Earning as freelance writer Vs. Writing for your own affiliate marketing website
- Planning list based articles even when you don’t have any prior knowledge
- How to come up with the story structure for your article (I am pretty sure you wouldn’t have heard about this before)
- How to dig product information online (in the right manner)
- How to write articles which match visitors buying intent (that actually teach you affiliate marketing as well)
- How to write and edit your content as quickly as possible
- Access to previous assignment reviews & QnA sessions
So I can’t answer how much you can earn. It’s your personal choice how much you want to learn and write.
On an average, our articles are 1800 words (the magic number defined by SEO experts for Google ranking).
We expect a minimum of 4 articles per month from our writers but you can write as many articles as you can. Even a beginner level writer can complete 2 article per week as a side project. You don’t even have to leave your full-time job.
We revise the payment structure once the writer gets a hold on the content writing. We don’t put an upper limit on the content that a writer wants to write per month.
Our writers can earn as much as they want as long as they are keeping the quality high.
High-quality content writing must be your goal. Publishing high-quality content is our goal.
That’s what you want to learn, right?
I asked the students to share their experience of Content Writing Pro. Not just experience, I encouraged them to share whatever they learned in the course.
This is what Dhanya Abraham, one of our pilot students had to say after the first session.
Update: We hired Dhanya as a paid writer after she completed the course.
You can check all the testimonials because these are publicly available on Facebook Group Blogging As Business.

My students have shared what exactly they learned. You can learn content writing just by reading their posts.
Writing articles based on the intent of the user is the first and the most important thing that we teach in our content writing pro course
If you get this right, you are already ahead of 90 per cent of the people who are learning content writing.
We delve deeper into how you can use content writing to become a freelancer and to start your own blogging business.
The goal for us is to help you earn money immediately ( by working as a freelance content writer) and long-term through your own affiliate marketing business.
Eventually we want you to reach a level where you are free from 9-5 job and continue being your own boss full time
We have structured the Content Writing Pro course into 6 Chapters.

I am happy that students are helping each other in the Facebook community.

Practice makes you perfect so I would suggest you to start writing after going through the first lesson itself.
